Here is presented a collection of the best ambient works created at Blood 'n' Tongue during the mid 1990's.  This was a period of rebuilding after a difficult early part of the decade where facilities and resources had reached their lowest levels.  They are dark, moody and reach deep into the depths of hidden dreams.

For this collection, Blood 'n' Tongue travels back to the mid 80's in order to bring you a collection of strange, psychedelic and experimental sounds. It's a heady mix of dark, industrial ambience and the occasional shift into something with a little groove to it.

VOLUME 08 - AUSTERITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION

This collection dips in the to dark days of Blood 'n' Tongue during the early 90's.  This is the period when available resources for production resulted in a turn to very basic and primitive production techniques.  Chief among these was the use of tape loops which are heavily featured on many of these collected recordings.

This collection was suggested by Blair Stapleton in 2000 as an overview of the material produced over the previous 20 years. It was the first set of recordings to be remastered into a digital format and lead to the eventual remastering of all the recordings contained in the Blood 'n' Tongue archive. A limited number of copies of this set (10) were produced to give away to friends. While some of the material here is unique to this collection, several pieces also ended up being included on other subsequent collections.
