Cube Your Day (1997)

Subduction presents a truly three dimensional approach to daily living. From the first breaking of the dawn to the darkest hours of the night, this is the soundtrack that goes through all 1440 degrees.

Sect in the Morning

As the light begins to creep across the distant horizon and the morning star fades from view, so the first pulses of Evanescence.2 begin. As the light begins to grow, reaching out to cover the sky, the rhythms and textures expand and spread through the air. A few deep breaths and the day is underway, slowly building and evolving, energy rising and activity increasing.

Next, we have a brief respite with Equator, a moment of calm and an opportunity to contemplate the day ahead. There are so many plans to be made and things to be done, but now is not the time for action. Now is the time to be still for a moment and prepare for what is to come.

As the pace and the energy continue to increase, the jittering rhythms of Reconnaissance propel you into the world. You're out there now and it's time to take advantage of that morning vigour and go! A contact here and an action there, the volley of movement keeps you sharp and alive.

Response Technique in the Afternoon

With the day now fully underway, the steady drive of Heavenly accompanies you on your rounds. The clock is ticking and you're in the thick of things. Like a well oiled machine, you push past the boundaries and work to create that which never existed before.

As the afternoon progresses, the world around is in full bloom and the city, like the jungle, becomes a strange and unexpected place. It's time to take out that machete and hack your way through Expedition. Creatures big and small move past, looking, wondering, waiting for the time to pounce.

Eventually, the shadows begin to stretch across the ground and twilight becomes more than a thought. The world begins to settle in and slow while the days activities find their conclusion. Pakman keeps the rhythm steady and slow while the hands continue their sweep about the circle.

Phoma in the Evening

As the last streaks of red bleed from behind the mountains, White begins to sound the birth of the night. With the energy of the day now past, a new life begins to emerge. What strange life this is. With no sun to fuel it's activities, more kinetic sources must be found. Here we move by electricity and the streets begin to vibrate.

Darkness soon brings the beating of the hungry heart and so the lonely thumping of Grey. The mind turns to thoughts of companionship and mating. Shaded eyes peer out into the night seeking contact. We seek to embrace, merge and flow.

Finally, all the day has gone and all that remains is the solemn hum of the darkness and the steady drone of Black. The eyes are closed and Morpheus has taken his throne. In the theatre of the mind, dreams roll by like an under exposed film full of shadows and inexplicable events. Sleep well children for, soon enough, the scarab will push the sun back out of it's brief slumber.
